How do gas nail guns work?

When the trigger is pressed, the spark plug causes a small explosion of gas inside a combustion chamber. The explosion forces a piston down a cylinder which in turn acts on a driving pin that launches the nail. These nail guns also have a double trigger mechanism. The gas nailer has sequential actuation, so you have to return the trigger and the muzzle to their starting position before you can fire another nail.

To maintain its good condition, you also have to clean the gas nail gun regularly. Lastly, the nailer has a gas cartridge that contains a propellant that lasts for 18 months. If you are going to buy a gas nailer, check if the gas cartridge is still good for a long time.
