Macrosomia

• Excessive size of a body.  Particularly used in relation to the excessive birth-weight of a fetus after maternal diabetes.

Maternal Diabetes

• (sometimes also called maternal diabetes mellitus)  When a mother has diabetes.  This can be due to gestastional diabetes or to a pre-existing diabetic condition.
