Unique Wedding Cake

By theguideto

Are you thinking of new and fun ways to create your very own wedding cake?

If you are a music lover and you’re tying the knot soon, then maybe you can try baking a G Clef wedding cake. This special treat is made from individual small G clef shaped cakes mounded together. The G Clef shaped cake is perfect as a wedding souvenir for guests.

Here are the ingredients for your G-Cleft wedding cake — one box of white cake mix, one to two tubs of writing icing, and one G Clef cookie cutter. You can also use other cutters that resemble other musical symbols to add detail and variation to your musical cake.

You can start by baking the cake mix according to the package direction. After baking, allow the cake to chill in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Chilling the cake will help you cut out the G- Clef shape form perfectly, ensuring crisp and clean edges.

Use the cookie cutter to shape the cake into a G Clef and then place it on the cake stand.

Carefully add a tub of icing on top of the cake. You can choose an icing color that will match your wedding motif. Using a spatula or a knife, coat the entire cake with a thick amount of icing. Fondant icing can also be used for this cake. Place the cake on the refrigerator for one hour. This will be the first coat of icing, referred to as the crumb coat. The crumb coat will help you achieve a smooth icing surface on your unique musical cake.

Take the chilled cake and apply another thick layer of white vanilla icing onto the cake. Smooth out the cake and then outline it with piped icing. You can use white icing to outline your cake to give it a more elegant look.

Garnish your musical plate with edible pearls. You can also add a musical bride and groom as a cake topper.
